Oy,
having trouble using an avatar within the limited sizes of 100x100
and 6Kb...
How on earth do I shrink it to be 6Kb max??? I've tried shrinking some pics to 100x100, but they still are way to big in bytes....
And when I use a pic from photobucket, It's nog possible to determine the size.... (never heard that before

)
Sooooo..... UH?

Are you actually optimising the pics or just squishing them down to the right size but leaving the same amount of data in there? Try using the
Bluefive PIXresizer, its freeware.
Theoretically if you use photobucket and choose 'Tiny 100x75' from the upload options it should give you a file small enough though.
Good luck

Try saving as a GIF file instead of a JPG as they are much smaller generally.
The avatar size is small because it is stored on our servers and accessed any time someone loads a post with a comment by you in it. Although small files they are accessed very often and count towards bandwidth allowance for the site hence why the limits are set so small.
You shouldn't have any problem getting them to a small enough size. My avatar is a 3.1kb gif. If you do have problems though email them to me at ghostrider [at] shropshire-suzuki.co.uk and I'll resize them for you.

<edit> Looks like those are for paid members only?
Another reason to stump up the very reasonable £5!
