Hello! :ymhug: I still pop in sparadically to see if anything’s going on... but if we all just do that nothing restarts?...

So here’s an update on my buggy build!

On Wednesday I drove it out of the garage... it started first time after standing for 18 months... good old Suzuki’s!

Image

It’s kind of taking shape?!

Image

From the rear, you can see the three-way winch...

Trouble is, after turning it round...

Image

You can see the passenger side needs some work to make it look the same!

But, it’s getting there...

Dave, still Suzuki obsessed! ;)

Did you notice the winch is in the back?

Image

The rope runs through that donut fairlead, under the passenger seat, through the firewall, along the Choi’s rail next to the engine and out the front! (Photo below)

The handle is to persuade the rope to spool evenly onto the drum...

See the Jerry can. It’s false! The front hinges forward to reveal a big tree strop! ;)

Image

Here’s the hook parked at the front...

So to winch forward you do as normal, only the winch is in the back...

Image

To winch backwards you pull a loop off the drum and insert the snatch block from its mount -

Image

Above the massive hawse fairlead that looks like a monkey’s face?!

Image

There’s also the option to steady or self-right the buggy by taking a loop off the front of the winch and going up and out through the loop on the back of the roofline protector bars...

I have been following on Facebook as well. I cant wait to see photos of it in action.

Will it be strictly a event use buggy or everyday laner as well?

No, not being build for events... it's purely a 'laning buggy for some fun in the sun 8)

Did you notice the lid on the bonnet?! :))

It's...

Image

A pastie box! At the start of the day you pop a pastie in, 'lane for a few hours, and then retrieve the pastie for a hot lunch!...

As it -

... hangs done over the exhaust headers in the engine bay!

I've taken inspiration from our wheelin' friends across the pond... in America they have a Buritto Box on the headers of their exhausts...

But I wanted the Briitsh equivalent, and without having to open the bonnet... so bought a Bain Marie pot and lid from a catering firm and sunk it into the Jimny's bonnet -

Can't wait to try it out... Hot pastie after a few hours 'laning 8)
