Yeah I was thinking that, need to try make up some secure brackets, and some kind of anti theft system, Do you think you could jack a Vit up on the towing points? I reken they would be too weak?

Standard suzuki roof bars with the centre cross bars again genuine suzuki. Seen loads of roof bars with cross bars fitted but this was one of the few centre sectiions i have seen. I will looks for some more pics of when i made it. Dave bits4vits inspired me with the rack he has on stealth.
The high lift mounts are available on ebay but i modded them to be able to fit lynch pins to prevent the wingnuts coming off during transit.
The roof cage was actually a bmw item, bought 2 and the boss had the other.
I will see what contruction pics i can dig out
I loved that white vit :(

If you're keeping it outside the car keep it well maintained, you might find water and road dirt will jam up the mechanism quite quickly.

I have one of these mounted on a modified spare wheel bracket (the spare wheel lives on the roof rack):

First one i didi was across roof rack side to side, similar to Kevs, next one i did was based on bike rack flange from spare wheel. Then changed it so it could take shovel.
