I use a 7" samsung galaxy tab. Build quality on it is awsome. Has fallen of tje roof of a 7' tall hilux with no case and didnt even scrach.

When off roading I use the back country navigator app that you can pre download all os maps set routes that you want to do, and also map out where you have been. Aswell as giving the trip infomation average speed, elevation change, distance traveled etc.

Have tried out the google nexus 7 and for the £150 proce tag very nice piece of kit

hope that helps
The x90... Its even more of a hair dressers car!

Yeah I had a go on a nexus the other day and it is indeed very lovely. Bit small for what I want though.

I'm currently eyeing up the Asus Transformer Prime. My friend got one recently at coment for £250 as they had an offer on and its very nice. Best of both worlds as its a netbook with a 5 core processor that you can then disengage the screen and use it as a tablet.

Currently running one of the firesale HP Touchpads though which I got cheap and put a hacked android rom on. Runs great and is pretty equivalent to an ipad2 or galaxy 10.1 but for a much lower pricetag. :-bd

Android isn't just android, so a bit of an unfair choice imo.

Theres loads of crappy android tabs, but also some that are very good, depending on what exactly you intend to use it for.

Galaxy tabs as metioned before.
The Asus transformer pads

probably 2 of the better choices out there.

Back country navigator is, as mentioned by benjamingo a very usefull app. It works well.

If you're using a flash based website then you want to ditch that anyway.. You'd certainly be screwed using the ipad though as they don't do flash..

Not getting into a debate on which is best, as I've been out of IT for too long now, so just recounting my experience with the iPad ;)

For running Bits4Vits it's brilliant, web browse anywhere with it's Vodaphone mini-SIM, so I can answer helpdesk entries on the go, and whilst at the tills in the shop...

Running the (Cubecart) back office system in a browser is fine, but you can't edit in a scrolly box within a scrolly screen... So for instance I can edit prices and stock levels, but can't edit item descriptions (easily) as they are in a scrolly editey box and I can't click to get into it... that seems it's only downfall to me, do need to upgrade to the latest OS yet though...

Was pleasantly surprised with it's GPS capability! Huge screen, and the location is remarkable for the lack of an aeriel... even in remote spots and valleys it still follows the route perfectly...

Yup, they are probably dearer than others, but I got mine on business finance... £30 a month... :-bd

Can you run a different browser on an ipad dave? I'm using Dolphin on the android and can edit my scrolley boxes on my shop. Not sure if you have alternatives but might be worth a go?
