Has anyone done a stubby mod in a Grand Vitara? Mine has a Jimnybits 3" lift kit, with associated diff drop brackets, and a set of 4xfourart tubular arms, and I'd like to do a steel axle/stubby shaft mod to it but I've heard there may be some clearance issues with the drop brackets. Anyone know?
Dave, did you do a stubby mod on Stumpy?

Hi :-h

Sorry, bit late! Not been on here for a whiile...

I can't see why it wouldn't be possible? You might have to countersink a bolt on the diff drop brackets (which I had to do on a Vitara once) but the drop brackets shouldn't get in the way? As nothing much changes near it...?

I also countersunk the three bolts on the stubby axle so that they were fluch next to the casing / drop brackets, so they fitted in from behind the flange...

Thanks for the reply Dave. It's something I want to do, even though the truck doesn't see much serious off road. Want to do a steel axle as well.
In other news, I'm over your way in three weeks, so I hope you're stocked up on choc
