gv wandering

hi guys,sorry i havent done much posting,but i have a problem with my gv,ive just had some tyres fitted to the rear to match the front,theyre insa turbo rangers,since having them done ive noticed the car seems very unstable over 60mph,swaying all over the road and its quite scary,so i dont go beyond 56mph now,it didnt happen before,got tracking done which was way out,any ideas guys?..............daz

I'll bet you a marsbar that the tyre fitters would them up to 40PSI to seat the bead, and that they are still at 40PSI.

they had them at 38psi,and arent at that now mate..................you owe me a marsbar,lol...

Trackings probably not been set properly.

when i took it for the tracking last week,they couldnt do it as there was no thread left on the tie bar,so put a new tie bar and track rod end on,then they set the tracking,the car doesnt pull to one side,brakes in a straight line,ita just at speed its like driving on ice,had a disco once and had same problem,turned out to be radius arm bushes,i do go off road in it a bit,but just over fields and bumpy tracks/roads,but did hit a deep tractor rut one night in a field....

what other mods has the GV got ?

my GV wandered quite a bit never found out what it was
just didn't go over 60....i had General Grabber AT2s on and i
felt like it slided a lot on wet roads if you weren't careful
ive not been that impressed with Modded GVs from my
experience they don't mod as well as std Vits

thanks for that mate,one did i did do was to check the wheel nuts just before and although they werent loose,i could still get them tighter so maybe that could be helpful,the furthest i tightened any of them was around 1/2 to maybe 3/4 inch turn...

Ok,
lets start with a few checks
are the following in good order?
Rear Shocks plus bushing
Rear suspension arm bushes
Panhard rod ok?
Rear tyres balanced have they lost a weight?
Rear half shaft bearing play?

Thats all for now till I get a few answers for the above.

yes mate all in good order,i THINK ive found the problem,since tightening the wheel nuts,it seems ok,tried going to 65mph on way back from work and it was fine,so fingers crossed thats it,feel bleeding daft now,but thanks for all the input guys,great bunch.............DAZ

lesson learnt there i hope dazza, always check your nuts!
main thing to remember that with all off road style tyres, they wont feel as planted as a road biased tyre. just alter your driving style to compensate
