X-90, slow build.

My X-90 build so far !

Started out with a set of 40mm springs spacers so the 8x15 alloys with 255/60 tyres would fit underneath, a pair of Bits 4 Vits adjustable camber bolts and off it went.

Next I bought a set of Grand Vitara springs, they came from Telford so I imagine it was someone on here that owned them. Orangey-red colour if it rings any bells.

12 months on and I have just fitted the rears along with Bits 4 Vits shock extenders.
Since they gave 35mm extra lift over the standard springs with spacers I didn`t bother refitting the spacers.

I have a pair of front strut spacers to go on when I fit the front springs and a prop spacer for the rear as a `just in case`

Had a trial fit of my 195R15 Alligator offroad tyres today (on standard SJ rims) and the clearance looks good.

Oh, I have a K90 number plate too,,,,welcome to the club Mr Jones

My home brewed/South Down snorkel is on hold for a while,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

this is one grey area i know this from a car i once had with tarmac rally tyres on the road for a bit

this is not 100% but its some thing like this ( some one may have a lot more info than me but )

if the tyre has wear indicators and motor sport use only they are allowed on the road eg stage rally cars have them to go from different stages

but if motorsport use only on the side they are not eg slicks and wet's

I believe they must be E marked and have a load/speed rating. Check your tyres.

Update.

Grand Vitara springs and strut spacers fitted on the front now, it really needed the strut spacers, the axle droop now is so much more than it was previously.

Only drawback is the springs seem a little tired, it sits 10mm lower than it did with the 40mm spacers fitted on stock springs.

Solution, I cut down two of my 40mm spring spacers to 25mm and will fit them once I get a spare day. (If that seems too much obviously I have two 15mm spacers available)

Rear prop spacer is fitted too, it was concerning me how much of the slider was showing at the gearbox end, now it`s fine again.

Oh, the springs are that much firmer on the road I removed the anti-roll bar, drives exactly the same with or without it.

I once had a set of tyres with INDIA on them , they had never been there though !!!
