1. because I'm expecting the calmini springs to sag any minute now (and even if mine don't, a bunch of us have been trying to find replacement front springs for the calmini kit anyway)

2. if they are no good for me, I'll pass them on to someone else who could try them on a standard vit.

3. They were cheap.

I've only tried the older merc springs.

Couldn't do any harm to try them, or give me some measures and i'll compare them.
I did think that on the c180 onward, merc did make an effort to get the cars to handle, unlike the old ones.
From that, they maybe stiffer.

Springs arrived yesterday.

They look to be the same as 200/300 springs, albeit one coil less.

However, as these were secondhand, they came with the rubber Merc spring seats, which I reckon will make them fit the Vitara chassis mount better... it's one of the reasons I hasn't completely sold on the idea.

Anyway, They'll be going on my calmini & Derv truck later in the week. I won't cut anything off, and it should tell us if they're any good for the calmini sagging springs syndrome.

This picture shows some Ironman 2" lift springs, 200/300 Merc springs with 2 coils cut off, and the C180s.

I reckon they're a close match in length to the Calmini springs, but with a more progressive wind.
