Shhhhh...vitara_mad wrote:they look like merc springs ???
Hehe, yes, but i didn't want to confuse matters until I knew if they work or not.

From a 230e W124
The American option was 3" coilover springs from FOA... 550Lb 16" springs, but you'll need to fidle the top mount a little as they have no pigtail. $75 per spring, plus $72 postage, plus customs etc...
If these don't work I'll be looking at the airbags still...

Will be interesting to see if these work!!
I'm just running the Calmini springs then added the B4V spacers when i fitted the diesel engine. I haven't had any problems yet but I've only used it offroad twice so far since.

Sorry Ped, these won't be going on any time soon.
I'll dig out the ebay link in a mo - having computer probs here.
I can't guarantee these will work though, I was just happy to give it a go at that price.

That's part of the reason mine haven't gone on Ped, quite a lot (2 coils?) need to be but off to get a 3" lift on regular arms, but it's gonna be trial and error on the calmini arms.ped87 wrote:So how much needs cutting off the merc springs?

Calmini arms make getting springs off dead easy, axle stand under chassis, undo the three nuts next to the ball joint and A arm falls away (fast) so get a jack under it and lower it down. chop a tad off the spring , jack back uo and re fasten, 10 minute job.
And yes calmini arms will need longer springs, but as its an A arm set up 10mm of spring , doesnt equate to 10mm of lift (its probably about double) due to the laws of physics.
