SU carb conversion manifold??
Thinking of an SU conversion on my SJ, as having owned a few Mini's in the poast I've got a box full of SU's in the garage!
Anyone offer guidance/pics of a manifold and how to make one??
Thanks
Jim

TBH, I made a manifold adapter, and whilst it worked, and there are ways around the carb icing issue, if you can (and I'd really try) get a properly converted manifold - it's just worth it.
Rhino rays do them I believe?

I'm also thinking of an SU conversion, is it really worth all the trouble though?

Oh, my, yes.
More power, better MPG, more driveable, easy to tune/service, simple, doesn't cut on slopes etc.
(IMO, of course.)

When looking at SU carbs i noticed there was different sizes. i.e 1 3/4", 1 1/2" and 2", what is the best size to use or does it not really matter?

Funny enough my truck cost £400.
My rule is, never spend more than the original amount of the truck on a single mod.
So much for that idea.
They cost £100, you make it back in breakdown costs, less fuel and plasters for parts of you trying to fix the original carb.
