Re: Vitara rear drop bracket

Whilst they may look simple, I'd carefully consider how you intened to make it. I had a 'Normal' style block on mine, and it played havoc with the prop angle. Re: My vit Failed the MOT...

It was a ball joint!

Congrats M&D, I'm sending you an imaginary prize of a blank cheque.

It's the balljoint attached to the central drag link, so need to undo and split 4 balljoints... should be a straightforward job, and the drag link should be here tomorrow. :)

Re: My vit Failed the MOT...

hehehe...

not free to fix, a single part needed.

4 bolts to remove, and refit. :)

The advisories were a slightly corroded from brake pipe, and a broken but functional door handle.

My vit Failed the MOT...

Yup. The snot green thing failed it's last mot.

You know the classic story; To repair or not to repair.

So, I'll give an imaginary prize to whoever can guess either the failure list, or the estimated cost of repair :(

Re: Vitara engine swap?

your priority is the gearbox, specifically, which one will fit the engine of your choice. VW = Acme Pug = commercial bellhousing & parts Vauxhall = carlton gearbox. However you do it, don't expect to save any money until you've covered at least 50k miles - that's what it took for me. BUT I loves my ...

Re: Vitara engine swap?

indeed, it'll be slow and gutless.

For the same amount of trouble, and proably less £££ you could get a noice 1.9 tdi in there...

And as M&D said, your tax won't change.

Re: Quick release anti roll bar?

The calmini kit gets full articulation with the ARB connected. Win-win.

The droplinks are swapped to the inside of the ARB, so in effect, it's less effective, but rides way better with it on.
