dont know about antilock brakes on the vit but on my mk1 mazda eunos its a common problem of the abs unit playing up big time after replacing brake hoses and calipers if the correct bleeding procedure isnt followed. worth looking into the procedure before doing any more work?

is there a load compensating valve to the rear? problems with that or even an air lock there? might be worth hooking up an easibleed and making sure the whole system is free of air

my jap built 1994 vit was a lot better built than my spanish built 2000 4u2. as for ride quality, id say a standard jimny is a much better daily than a vit. my dad has a late model jimny and its superb. once you start modding then it becomes a compromise, upto you how far to take things but if budge... |

Of course I'm biased - go get a Jimny - it just makes sense ... go and look over at http://www.bigjimny.com ... there's a few for sale right now at some very good prices. Don't forget that Dave Jones (aka Bits4Vits - http://www.bits4vits.co.uk/store/index.php) also sells Bits4Jimny's 8) Why a Jimny... |

sounds like a complete short has occurred. its gonna be a back to basics operation to asses what damage has been done. start with the battery and work from there with a visual inspection of the loom for burning/melting and onto the fusebox / ancillaries
