The cap doesn't provide enough pressure allowing the coolant to boil in the hotter parts of the engine causing identical symptoms. If it didn't run low on coolant, you should be ok. When a water pump fails it'll just get hot rea...

Re: That's one warm G.O.A.T.

It doesn't sound very good, rapid fluctuations in temperature are almost always air bubbles. has it happened since? was the red water level indicator on when the first overheating event happened?

Re: Vit no spark

If it’s getting fuel injected at the correct time then the ECU is fine, perhaps it’s the distributor, I’ve had one fail.

Re: Vitara frame chop mod

My mistake, I’ve just had another look and it’s clear that the engine is unbolted off it’s mounts and the chassis lowered away from it. Obviously having no effect on prop angles #-o No mods to bulkhead to get the 33’s on the Rat, other than trimming the bottom of the wings back and massaging the sea...

Re: Vitara frame chop mod

I have nothing to add, but it looks very well thought out! dropping the front 4” like that improves the rear prop angle whilst maintaining the standard front geometry, allowing for more lift to fit bigger wheels for clearance. It adds a bit too much length to keep anything remotely standard looking ...

Re: Post your snow pics here

Completely blocked matrix, I had nothing to lose so I connected a hose to it and hit it with full mains pressure! after about 30 seconds the blockage started to pass and after all the rad weld/crud had stopped coming out I back flushed it and connected it back in. This worked quite well, but they we...

Re: Post your snow pics here

Too right! I gave the whole system another flush for good measure yesterday and they’re positively toasty now.
