Photobucket has royally screwed almost every forum, worldwide. They have changed their policy on third party website hosting, meaning that you can no longer link to photobucket account via forums, or ebay etc. If you want the ability to link to PB, you now need to pay $500 a year. No joke. Whilst th...

Nice one Dave.

Sadly, Farcebook seems to be destroying forums (as well as photobuckets recent rape of photo hosting!). Not being on facebook makes me something of a social pariah, but I just can't do it.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Yeah, it's a problem with ANY old car IMO.

There are rust free vits out there, you just have to be vigilant.

I've got a 1999 SWB vitara 4u, with a *few* mods. It's never been welded, and doesn't need any now. Rust free ones are out there!

I've not had one, but here we go; Different front suspension arrangement *might* make things trickier. They're old = rust. I think its the cam chains that make the engine a bit of a gamble. if that doesn't bother you, or you can do it yourself, go for it, I think they're otherwise a pretty decent en...

Howdy. Mostly, there isn't much to choose between the two offroad, the suspension is essentially the same (except the V6). Now for the downer; I would only buy on condition. Rust kills these, and even the youngest vits are nealy 20 years old now. Find one with no rust and buy it, regardless of the n...

if you can, you really want to offset the top and bottom, to help drop the diff nose.

Whilst they may look simple, I'd carefully consider how you intened to make it. I had a 'Normal' style block on mine, and it played havoc with the prop angle. Loads of vibration, and killed UJs so quickly, I think I did 5 in one year at one point! A bigger issue is what it does to the handling; you'...

It was a ball joint!

Congrats M&D, I'm sending you an imaginary prize of a blank cheque.

It's the balljoint attached to the central drag link, so need to undo and split 4 balljoints... should be a straightforward job, and the drag link should be here tomorrow. :)

hehehe...

not free to fix, a single part needed.

4 bolts to remove, and refit. :)

The advisories were a slightly corroded from brake pipe, and a broken but functional door handle.

Yup. The snot green thing failed it's last mot.

You know the classic story; To repair or not to repair.

So, I'll give an imaginary prize to whoever can guess either the failure list, or the estimated cost of repair :(
