Re: New DD 2003 GV

The first upgrade I always do on a new car is to change the speakers. Not a huge upgrade but he stock ones were truly terrible. http://www.mrhawk.com/web/gv-2014-002.jpg The fronts were very easy, just remove the door-cards but in the back the speakers are in the roof and to do that properly you are...

New DD 2003 GV

Some might remember my old LWB Vitara that was my DD for many years. Well, in january 2013 I sold it since it was getting a bit to old. http://forumbilder.se/images/052320111018259f28.jpg I bought a -99 tintop instead that I modded with a 2" lift, bigger rubber, home made winch bumper and a roofrack...

Re: MrHawks SJ416 "Zukizukin"

Almost a year since my last update. But that means that nothing has broken and I have been offroading for a full year without problems :ymhug: But now it's time for some upgrades. One piece of miserable looking samurai axle. http://www.mrhawk.com/web/sj-2013-001.jpg Removed all crap we don't need. A...

Re: sj410 front half shaft keeps smashing

First try a 413 shaft/cv, fits right in and is allot stronger.

Re: uprated clutch

What engine do you run? I've been running a 1,6 8v for 6 years with a stock Aisin SJ413 cluth with no issues at all.

Re: Heavy duty/ Toughened wheel bearings

Rim size has nothing to do with it. What really kills bearings is massive negative offset. Unless youre running 33" or bigger I don't think you should worry.

You should however always do a check at least two times a year for play in the bearings when running oversized tires.

The servo mount plate is not a bad idéa, I have seen several vits crack at the frame there. If it's worth buying instead of making one at home I don't know.

Re: MrHawks SJ416 "Zukizukin"

Since the first Challenge competition is this weekend I decided to do some minor upgrades. The material I used to lengthening the propshafts was a bit brittle so after destroying my rear one I opted to make new ones. The ends of two old propshafts has cut off. http://www.mrhawk.com/web/zukizukin2012...

Stock diff mounts are cast steel, so if yours is plate steel it's probably a diff drop kit.

Re: Bump stops??

I would definitely not add bump stop spacers in the front. These things has poor travel as it is. It will ride really bad.
